A New Orleans friend, Ken Foster, has another book coming out. (His "The Dogs Who Found Me" remains one of my main gift items.) Ken is a true champion on the pit bull front, these much maligned companions. Anyone who has lived for more than two decades remembers how other dog breeds used to suffer the same prejudice: Doberman Pinschers and German Shepherds were the dogs that everyone feared when I was growing up in the 1970s in the Midwest, simply because of some bad owners.
Besides all of that, Ken is a good writer. So, he's got a couple of things going for him if you need reasons to buy his books.
