public space advocates

Effie Michot fiddlin on Decatur, making some cash on Saturday. Effie has been working on learnng 5 songs, then she set up and charmed the crowd (and the money out of their pockets) for over 3 hours.

Ellen Macomber making some cash and friends on Sunday on Jackson Square, selling her paintings and books.

How great to see talented people deciding to share their work with the world in such a free way... and to see the world taking notice. Yet another reason why old cities are an amazing place; crowded city streets insist walkers come face to face with people who are offering something they will not see or hear at the mall.

Vive le villes!
