What is Lagalou?

Peter Berg from Planet Drum Foundation: "In Ecuador the playing out of social beliefs, intentions and priorities has a different emphasis...Things get done but the society is able to manage without industrial style infrastructures. For lack of an existing term to describe this I offer lagalou." Clearly, Peter sees that warmth and camraderie replace officialdom and frustration. This so describes New Orleans 2005+ that I adopt it as our name: Lagalou New Orleans. Read Berg's letter on this blog by searching term "lagalou" or looking through "Peter Berg" or "lagalou" tags.

Where the city of the cleanliness of the sexes stands,

Where the city of the healthiest fathers stands,

Where the city of the best-bodied mothers stands,

There the great city stands.
